Leitess Leitess Friedberg + Fedder attorneys are actively involved in multiple professional associations. They use their knowledge and experience to provide legal educational content for our clients' trade associations. Our attorneys also hold board positions and actively write and lecture on topics of interest for many of these organizations.

The American Bar Association (ABA)
Jeremy Friedberg is Co-chair of the Litigation Section, Creditors Rights Litigation Subcommittee and Chair of the Business Law Section, Commercial Loan Documentation Subcommittee. He recently appeared on a televised panel discussion on loan document drafting, produced by the ABA.

Steven Leitess is ABA Advisor to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws Committee drafting a Uniform Certificate of Title Act.

The Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys (ACFA)
The principals of LLFF have long been major contributors to ACFA. Steven Leitess and Jeremy Friedberg have also provided writing and lectures for ACFA members and are both currently members of the ACFA executive board. Jeremy also serves as Vice President of ACFA. Earl Leitess, who has written materials and lectured at ACFA events is past president of ACFA.

The Equipment Leasing Association (ELA)
Steven Leitess is a member of the ELA Legal Committee. He regularly writes and lectures on topics of interest to financial institutions and their lawyers, including lender liability defense.

The Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA)
Jeremy Friedberg is chair of the Business Law Section, Uniform Commercial Code Committee. Steve Leitess and Jeremy Friedberg presently co-chair the Business Law Section’s Task Force for enactment of revisions to the Uniform Commercial Code. Earl Leitess has long been active in the Business Law Section of MSBA, of which he has served as section chair.

Service to the State of Maryland
Earl F. Leitess was appointed by Governor Robert Ehrlich, Jr. to the Maryland Uniform Laws Commission and currently serves on a National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL) committee drafting a Uniform Certificate of Title act. Earl works with state officials in order to benefit the quality of the proposed act and to ensure that concerns of the State are considered in the drafting process.
